Yuressa Shonta Donald : Saxophonist
Yuressa Shonta Saxophonist is a talented musician hailingfrom Rochester, NY, who discovered her passion for music and the arts at anearly age. At the young age of 5, she embarked on her musical journey, startingwith piano lessons and later learning baritone horn, trumpet, and, of course,the alto and tenor saxophone. She has achieved two world championships with TheEmpire Statesmen Drum and Bugle corps as a baritone horn player. Throughout her music career, she has had the opportunity todisplay her talent at a wide range of events. These include Joshua Revolution,Panoply Music Festival, Miss Plus America Finals Night Guest Artist 2015, MissBlack Mississippi USA Finals Night, Montesano Arts Festival and Alabama Womenin Jazz Festival, Yuressa has had the opportunity to perform alongside renownedmusicians including Christopher Hopper, Jasmine Ghent, Don Diego, and CanitaRodgers. In 2018, Yuressa Shonta entered the world of recording artists withthe release of her debut EP, Butterfly Soul. This captivating collection ofsongs can now be enjoyed on all major streaming platforms.

Olivia Bonds is a native of Jackson, Mississippi and is the daughter of Cassandra Taylor and Dennis Bonds. She has been involved with Performing Arts for 20 years and began demonstrating musical virtuosity at age 1. She is an alumni of Murrah High School and
Wells APAC (formerly known as Power APAC) where she received additional training in
Tiger Rogers - Producer/Recording Artist/Saxophonist

For the Miss Sweetheart Organization, she has held the local title of Miss Jackson County
she has held the title of Miss Hinds County 2021 and Miss Mississippi River ELECT 2021.
Sweetheart 2022, and was appointed as the first Miss Mississippi Sweetheart 2022 and later became the first African American Miss Sweetheart America 2022-2023 in September 2022. Olivia has been crowned as our Miss Sweetheart World 2024 being the first African American woman to hold this title as well. She is looking forward to pursuing a new venture in life as well as completing her college education. Olivia will be graduating from Belhaven University with her Associates Degree in General Studies in the Spring of 2025 and will extend her education to Jackson State University to pursue her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in the Fall of 2025, fulfilling her dream of becoming an educator. In everything she does, she knows that God is with her and for her and looks forward to continue to know the plans that He has for her.

Kurtina Cyntel Maholmes
Kurtina Cyntel Maholmes, a native of Jackson, MS, has been a music educator at Sykes Elementary School in the Jackson Public School District since 2016. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance and Level 1 &2 Orff-Schulwerk Teacher Education Certification from Jackson State University. She plans to receive her level 3 Orff-Schulwerk Teacher Education Certification by the end of this summer. She is pursuing a Master of Music Education from Mississippi State University with a concentration in Elementary Music and Choral Conducting. Kurtina has been recognized as an Outstanding Arts Educator by Ask for More Jackson in 2021, Grammy Music Educator quarterfinalist 2022.
