SUMMER PROJECTS
The Summer Project Team focuses on initiatives representing all three of the community focus areas. The Junior League of Jackson conducts six different camps throughout the summer months to provide interactive, educational experiences to youth while on school break.

Volunteers provide a week-long camp for children ages 5-10 that provides activities centered around art, music, movement, dance, drama, and beginning architecture and engineering.

Rising 3rd and 4th grade students volunteers on skills to prepare for the Mississippi Curriculum Tests, as well as art, drama, and physical education in this weeklong summer camp.

MISSISSIPPI CHILDREN’S MUSEUM
Volunteers assist with a weeklong summer camp hosted by the Mississippi Children’s Museum for JPS students who have failed their 3rd grade reading test and are in danger of retention.

Volunteers work on several different summer initiatives, including Stewpot’s Lunch-n-Learn series, Operation Shoestring’s Summer Reading Program, Language of Art summer camp at Magnolia Speech School, and Backpack Buddies with JPS.
