 Community Projects
The League’s community projects exemplify our strong partnerships throughout the community. Despite the limitations caused by the pandemic, the League is thankful we were able to restructure our projects and initiatives in
a manner that was safe for everyone while still making a lasting impact in serving our community.
This year, most of our community projects had to be completely revamped due to COVID-19. Though the League’s work
in the community looked different, our volunteers’ commitment to service was stronger than ever.
Our community project teams found innovative and meaningful ways to
pivot, in each instance keeping the JLJ mission top of mind. During the summer, our teams created entirely remote/
virtual camps, complete with curriculum, supplies, and meals for the campers’ families. Many of our year-round projects were similarly virtual and/or remote. Other year-round projects were able to continue with in-person volunteering, but with smaller numbers and safety protocols in place. Our volunteers were grateful to be able to continue to serve the community in these unconventional ways.
