Jumble serves as both a fund development project and community project and just celebrated its seventh year as the ULTIMATE rummage sale.
Junior League Jumble kicked off our virtual event with a Little Black Mask initiative where 19 members volunteered to fundraise through their social media pages, highlighting the League’s mission, shared personal stories of their League experience, and promoted the event.
An online Premier Silent Auction was hosted on the first night of the virtual event, allowing online shoppers to buy or bid on premier items donated by local businesses. The General Online Auction also began the same night, when bidders could buy new and gently used furniture and décor donated by local businesses and Junior League members. The bargain hunting and bidding continued through Saturday afternoon with a half-price sale.
As an additional precaution, winning bidders were able to pick up their winning items through our curbside pickup at the Jackson Convention Complex. After bidding closed, JL Jumble was excited to see that 254 shoppers bid on a chance to win the 468 items that were sold!
As the sale ended, community partners and local nonprofit organizations took remaining items that were beneficial to their missions, furthering Jumble’s impact. Additionally, the Pile O’ Pants donation drive provided over 961 uniform pants, shorts, and skirts for Jackson Public School students. The hard work of our volunteers and the items they donate bring smiles to our loyal shoppers that return year after year. Shoppers may not have been able to graze the aisles of our sale this year, but Jumble was able to provide quality merchandise for community partners to better fulfill their mission in the Jackson community.
